Wine:  Toro DO is beginning to steal the spotlight from some of its neighbouring wine regions. Although outside of Spain the Toro region is traditionally less known, its wines are quickly gaining popularity for their intense, full-bodied Tempranillos (locally called Tinta de Toro).  And Cyan ticks all the right boxes and is a powerful, smooth wine with soft tannins. The Toro area finally is being recognized for its production of outstanding wines, and several top wineries from Ribera del Duero and Rioja have begun to invest heavily in the Toro DO region.

About Winery:  Bodegas Cyan is part of the iconic Matarromera group. The farm where Cyan is located is comprised of 100 acres of vineyards, olives and pines, which lend very special characteristics for the production of quality wines. Since 2007 the winery focused on organic farming practices to produce organic wines. Its production barely exceeds 150,000 bottles per year; this quantity allows it to maintain high quality standards. The most striking feature of Cyan is its old vineyard surface: 2 acres with vines that are more than 80 years-old, planted in a traditional framework and yields that barely exceed 3000kg per acre. Its soils are sandy on the surface but are of limestone and clay at the subsoil. The soils that surround the winery are of calcareous character adding touches of minerality and finesse.
