 Wine:  Campillo Reserva Selecta is produced from grapes grown on vineyards in Rioja.  The region is known for its acidic grapes, which lends perfectly for aging so it’s no surprise that this wine ages so well. In fact, the wine was aged for 20 months in oak barrels.  Cherry red colour with ruby rim. Intense and complex on the nose.  Frutal notes, spices, toasted notes and cocoa. On the palate, good structure and acidity, elegant. Very long finish.  Pairs very well with meat.   And can even work well with some tasty or oily fish such as tuna, cod. Delightful when enjoyed with cheese, pasta, and even rice.
