 Wine: Biología is a bold, powerful yet fresh wine due to the Monastrell & Syrah (Shiraz) blend. It is a well-structured wine with soft tannins, strong purple fruit character, and notes of creamy oak. This is an elegant Mediterranean red blend which is loved in Spain.

Fun fact - The Biología wine label is a 1906 photo of the Velázquez family at the Casa Los Frailes estate.

 About Winery:  From the moment we stepped foot onto Casa Los Frailes it was love at first sight.  It's a pure gem!  Located in the Valencia DO, the artisanal family owned winery takes its name from the Jesuit Friars (Frailes in Spanish) who occupied the Estate from the 16th to 18th century.  The winery’s ancestors purchased the estate in a public auction in 1771. The property has remained within the Velázquez family for the last 250 years! 

Casa Los Frailes is committed to preserving the land as well as honouring the history and traditions of the estate.  The winery was certified organic in 2002 and currently follows biodynamic farming practices.  Paying homage to their ancestors, a range of their wines are even aged in the Friar’s ancient concrete deposits from centuries ago. ¡Qué fuerte!
